on the qoyllur v cf i'm a little low on stock for those so i'm going can build a half dozen more now twitch has a new thing that they call goals and they sent me an email and then went to a landing page you know how that works and the idea is its supposed to be able to show a little bar or longer overlaid on your stream seeing how many in my case subscribers i have and how many i want ahead and that seemed like a pretty neat idea because i am getting close to the fifty subscriber mark at which point various exciting things happen so i went through the little process and i set up a goal and that was fine and then i realized oh in order to actually make this work it did there was no documentation of how to actually do it i there was a a video which i did not watch because i never watch tutorial videos that there are stupid waited substitute for documentation are so i sort of managed to figure out that the idea was that you set up the browser display like obey obvious has a feature for displaying a web page as a video source so they give you where you twitch gives you a you your owl and you point your ob es browser at that and then i went to configure such a source in my ob es configuration oh and there was there was actually a link for written documentation but it went to some weird commercial thing it was no bs even though it said it was obey us anyway i found that i myopia does not actually have the browser feature so further research it turns out that you only get that if you compile all bs using chrome i'm not going to run chrome so that was the end of that so we don't get a little bar on the screen unless i manually create software to do that which is probably not worth it but for what its worth we are currently at forty four followers and i'm hoping to get six more i and hello ivy a f twitches streaming control things still says that i have no viewers tuned in but i don't trust that either really there's a whole lot about twitch that is not trustworthy but let's kind of get started here i have my bill of materials here and i'm going to be making six of these so i've got two four six sets of bins here and i'm going to get right stuck into counting out parts for them two boards in the corridor v cf i am down actually a stock of two assembled coil or vcs here i've been holding off on making more because of needing to resolve the transistor situation that has been an ongoing saga through the last several weeks have fun of my stream but it is now basically resolved i have a stock of transistors in place and i don't know if i mentioned this last week i think i probably did but the on the gracious hosts my next module ah there's also a supply issue for that because it uses these specific microcontroller chips from microchip corporation and they mouse are both ran out of stock so i ordered the forty that mouser said they had in stock they shipped me thirty two and microchip says that they will next be restocking each day i checked it said they would restock one year after the day before i the day i checked so on september first it said that they would restock on august thirty first of twenty twenty two and on september second it said september first of two thousand and twenty two i have not checked in the last few days but i'm guessing that if i checked today it would say september twelfth of two thousand twenty two the bottom line being on not at all sure that there will ever be any more of those chips made so i have thirty two and its quite possible that i will never be able to sell more than thirty two gracious hosts in which case it'll certainly be hard to cover the fairly substantial development costs of that project but what you're going to do i mean the development costs are now spent so if i want to make that money back at all i do have to sell as many as i can of these of these modules so that is the plan for that but today i don't have to think to owen's that today i don't have to think too hard about it it really kind of killed my motivation for actually finishing the development so although there is something though i have to do i mean i i'm like that close to having the file system co-working at the moment it can actually traverse the file allocation table on a dos format the usb stick and the good side of this is that that's really quite an achievement i mean i have this chip that i am programming it in assembly language and there is no support for talking to the usb hardware from assembly language the microchip corporation wants you to use their c language driver and that doesn't work for me because c is too high level which honestly for this project and so there was a certain amount of reverse engineering involved in actually writing a driver that would work and the usb driver that i've written does in fact work and that that's a thrill knowing that i'm able to actually do that but having a low level usb driver is only the start of the fun because i also need to have a dos file system that works and the i in it needs to work with fat thirty two on a sixteen bit microcontroller so there's a lot that can go wrong with trying to do thirty two bit arithmetic on a sixteen bit microcontroller i had to learn among other things a lot more than i ever really wanted to learn about long division i mean you know who who actually understands long division most people sort of learned in school and then forget it i went to a montessori school where the montessori mathematics curriculum for young children is actually really good i i think its a very good way of learning math but at least at the place i went they did not do a good job with long division in particular i ended up having to learn it again from my mom a couple of years later but even so the the basic long division algorithm that everybody is expected to learn in school it doesn't work all that well when you try to implemented in assembly language on a microcontroller so i had to learn a fair bit more about about long division in order to be able to put it into a framework that would work with a microcontroller anyway i guess i'm just sort of making excuses for the fact that my current fat thirty two driver miscalculates where to look for each cluster when the clusters go beyond the sixteen bit limit and i've really been putting off trying to trying to fix that i've been doing a lot of other things including playing dwarf fortress a fair bit in the last few days i was watching area silva traces stream she's playing factorio ah and it didn't make me want to go download factorio but it did kind of make me want to get back into playing dwarf fortress so that was part of the origin of that unfortunately the latest version of dwarf fortress first of all it seems like the hello pitch it seems like the makers of dwarf fortress have kind of finally succumbed to the disease of wanting caf graphics and all of their latest development updates refer to things that are going on with like some kind of new graphical edition yeah what i think of as real dwarf fortress that i'm playing hasn't updated since january and the version that's came out in january is not really stable i've been facing a lot of them a lot of seg faults so so i've got it set to save the game every season and its just the fact that sometimes the dungeon collapses and i have to roll back to the last save and that's not what i what i'm accustomed to playing that game but there are features that are new that i actually like and its one reason i'm talking about or fortress here is to kind of test the waters for whether any of you would want to watch me actually playing it on stream i there are features that i like in particular i don't know how new this is but it seems like the handling of dwarves injustice is a lot more interesting now that when there's a crime you can actually go in and do a real investigation and question suspects and some of the suspect lie and he can gradually sort of put together a picture of what was going on crimes also can are a fair bit more complicated now like i've had a couple of conspiracies and my fortress already and that was never a thing that existed in earlier versions so i i actually got quite interested in okay keeping track of what are the personality traits of the captain of the guard and how does that affect the results she gets interrupt when investigating crimes and what sort of crimes are happening what what's going on in the world outside my fortress that leads these conspiracies to exists and so forth and so on and all that is due in this latest version page says similar to the new total war games i guess so i don't really know anything about those but so that partly compensates for the loss of stability in this current version but it does sort of concern me that that the development effort seems to be focused now on the graphical version and not not the text based graphics one i'm counting out for two two boards at once here so i've got the upper row of boxes is for the for and the lower low is for bored ones so i have to keep switching back and forth here i was actually thinking that depending on how long the respective streams went i might try to do a raid on area is strange because she was streaming just as i was getting ready to start this one but when i went on twitter to post the announcements i saw that she'd had internet troubles as is not unusual and had to end the stream in a few minutes ago so that will probably be happening but de culture was also online so if de culture is still active we can do a raid on him i think the culture is a boy am not quite certain never really clear with these people who use aliases if they don't say the culture is doing skirt this schoolgirl a month ottawa all month this month when i design my jewels like quite often sort of go for circuits that i think are cool and that's part of the origin of having just a single one of these switching diodes in each qoyllur because i'm using a single diode full wave rectifier and its not at all obvious that its possible to create a single diode full wave rectifier so ah doing something that feels like almost like getting away with something i mean i diode costs like a one and a half cents so you're not really saving money by doing that but its a cool trick normally you would need to at least one for each direction anyway in my current dwarf fortress game i embarked on a glacier so it was just you know flat ice in all directions and had to dig down to the caves in order to get water because in the short term your fortress doesn't really need water but you certainly need alcohol and for that you need dirt and there's no dirt on a glacier so you have to get to the caves either to to grow things in the dirt that occurs in the caves or to get water so that you can irrigate near the surface and that was the direction i opted for because once you irrigate you can create mud and grow your grow your dwarf mushrooms in that and then you can brew them to get wine and away you go people sometimes attempt as a sort of a challenge they tried to do the the sober fortress run your own fortress without letting the dwarfs drink any alcohol but that is only borderline possible and i figure if i'm on on a glacier already that's plenty challenging enough okay now i'm onto hardware here not stand off screws i think i will do that rather than flipping to the other side and doing the inductors screws do i even need any yeah i do two screws i've not been consistent in making these bills of materials as to whether i include stuff like mounting hardware which would go out with the the finished module but its not really exactly part of the module but these coilovers do use two screws that are actually part of the module for holding on the panel and i have the impression that some people have a really negative reaction to that they they really hate seeing the screw heads on the front panel on the module my point of view is that its a mark of quality it shows that you're not just depending on the parts and the the jack sock to provide the mechanical support but there are those who think that its somehow a sign of low build quality and those are often the same people who think that they think that a pcb panel made of fiberglass album quality which i mean i guess its just a it comes down to you can't predict what or or control what people will think or know but i think there is no question that panels want to be metal in anything that's not metal is a compromise for for panel quality that's screws and nuts and more into standoffs where are the staff here there two each of eleven and thirteen millimeter niesr in the fancy bags just pull open i'm going to arrange them into sets of four as i usually do for better better organization in the future so these are in groups of twenty twenty and this next group will be forty and so on i think its supposed to be one hundred and each of these little bags will see if i actually get one hundred out of the bag i probably will these standoffs usually seem to be countered quite precisely not every item that i buy is actually i should fish this out of the garbage because i can use this for storing the countered and organized ones okay got twenty forty sixty eighty one hundred so i will pull out twelve there and put the rest back in the bag its true nature the lower pins really low on the thirteenth here so that'll be another thing to get one smart money comes in unfortunately cash is a little tight right now because of having to buy advance those up transistors and also the microcontrollers that i wasn't planning on buying until later in the development cycle for the gracious host but given that i realized you know and there might not be any more of those chips i had to buy all that were still available as well as the other digital chips that go with them the s rams and the the ducks alright next let's do coils i'm gonna need some more of these crystals as well for those digital modules but crystals are much easier to come by so i don't think there is critical what have we here probably fuses alright the coils are another critical thing which currently there's no reason to think that they'd be in short supply but i have to keep an eye on that really if i can't get these exact coils i'm probably going to discontinue the the coil or because they're so critical to the sound i could substitute other coils with similar specs but if they're not identical then it'll mean a change in the sound which might not even be a bad thing but it would definitely be a different thing its the sort of thing where i don't want to tell the customers oh yes still i would want to like give it a new model number or something but there's no sense worrying about that one it hasn't happened and other things are happening for the solve the problem with god i guess japanese philosophical concepts are often oversold it was a hilarious tweet that i re-tweeted about how you know you have to understand that in japan arson is not considered a good thing and because of the philosophical concept of martin ten i she just means don't burn and so even though you may be tempted you should not set fire to buildings in japan and take off on that with the whole grid of different inspirational books that said like you know a roku the japanese art of walking and recruit just means walking and you know presenting very straightforward and ordinary concepts that are not unique to any particular culture as if they were a big deal and someone somehow special and unique just because you translate the name into japanese and where was i going oh yeah yeah wabi-sabi so there is a somewhat more legitimately unique the japanese concept of the aesthetic of appreciating something with the understanding that it will not be permanent and i feel like there's some amount of that in building vintage electronics vintage vintage style let's say electronics that all of the components i'm using here are on were borrowed time that they won't always be available and what am i even doing here i need these one in each bin and so we have to enjoy each of these designs and and the entire style of electronic design well its possible because it won't always be i can be carriage a little too far but but it is a fact nothing i do here will always be the same way in the future and with the the ongoing speed advancements a lot of things its actually amazing that some of this stuff has lasted as long as it has been the op amp chips i'm using today are not exactly the ones that existed in the nineteen sixties but rpm for chips did and someone from the nineteen sixties would be able to look at a modern one and say okay i know what that is this is just a slightly newer and fancier version of the chips i was using and now if you compare against let's say the the duration of courses as a means of transportation the duration of through-hole op amp chips is a lot shorter than that but its longer than my lifetime anyway wrong bin where's the right point it is i need to go through and update some of my bin labels because as time goes by the organization system that i said i want set out at one point may not always be the best one okay so these are the ss eighty five fifty db i did not actually build a separate prototype for the for the coilovers to test these because i'm quite sure that they will really work especially given the checking i did with the with the coil it was not quite the leapfrog the leapfrog was the one the one where i was most concerned about them but here are a couple that are used in the exponential current source and its not even really necessary for an exponential current source in the qoyllur to be all that great because it doesn't attempt to be highly accurate and tracking so its only partially temperature compensated and that's good enough and it'll still be good enough with new transistors i'm quite sure alright onto the resistors not quite as careful labeling on these because i am building it myself i just need it to be good enough that i can remind myself which one i'm looking at and not have to squint at the color codes i think i mentioned i watched someone build one of these on a stream or actually it was a leapfrog and the fellow never use the color codes at all he would either look at the labels or or haul out the alma mater i dunno its none of my business maybe he's color blind but i was a little surprised because now granted not everyone memorizes the color codes but i one does if one builds electronics in any significant degree you memorize it by accident even if you don't try so that's certainly the approach i remember i would recommend is ok you makeup a cheat sheet to list of the the codes and then i use it as much as you want and pretty quickly you find you don't need it anymore three of these one case per billion lower bins six i mentioned the montessori mathematics and at least at like the lower elementary school level which was the only place i i was exposed to it one of the things they're very big on is counting by k okay count from zero to eighteen by threes as i just do and that is actually useful and then you compare it to what they teach our granted i don't even really know what they teach seven year olds and more conventional school systems but come by however many is a really practical and effective thing and it leads into stuff like multiplication and so on one point eight is next huh there are a fair bit of relatively low value resistors and in the qoyllur and i think what it comes down to as far as how that came about i mean i designed the thing so i know why each individual resistor values used but why i ended up using so many small ones i think the general pattern is because the puts a fair bit of current through those inductors i mean a safe a fair bit of current its small a tiny fraction of the power rating of what they could handle but up its more current than i would usually use in in the signal carrying parts of an audio circuit because i'm trying to push the inductors into a range where they'll start to sound like inductors and have a distinct behavior from from other components so if its pushing like one hundred micrograms instead of ten micrograms through a given component that leads to resistance is there in the few kilometres instead a few tens of kilometres there are other factors to the five ten ohm resistors in particular that i started out with those come about because of trying to scale down the voltages of the inputs of the ot eight chips i because oh thx end up having usually a fair bit more voltage gain than you really wanted so huh and you have to kind of kill the signal before it goes through there and that is part of the reason that there tends to be a fair bit of noise and no th circuit like this one cause you're you're dropping the signal down and it gets not into the noise noise floor but closer than normally would be comfortable before you let the o t a amp it up again and that's another way in which some of my designs are old fashioned in spirit even if i did all the design work in a twenty first century because a lot of people say oh th are too annoying we shouldn't use them anymore we should use i guess at twenty one sixty four or the equivalent which really is basically just another roti eight but its wrapped up more nicely and there's fewer weird things exposed on the outside that you have to deal with in design alright to each of these nine point ones they should have been in the upper bones it doesn't make things somewhat fair bit more confusing when i try to count parts for more than one i set up at a time i doing the two boards for one module at once is not so bad but after last time i tried i think i'm not anymore going to want to do more than one completely different module in the same run at least not when i'm also stream because that certainly takes takes away from my attention as well if you look closely you can see that i've now added the warning to all of my bills materials this is table is not a substitute for the text instructions and i went through a whole big thing of given that i hadn't realized but apparently its true and it makes some sense that there are people who try to just work from the bill of materials and not from the texts instructions partly because with many kits the bomb is all you get so they get used to doing that and then looking at my kit which really has a lot of text instructions that can seem kind of intimidating and then say oh well i know what i'm doing i want to won't use the resources that i was given but it will cause trouble i mean you go down this list one hundred k i tried to install one hundred k for our twenty find our twenty it doesn't have the proper footprint for a hundred k resistor because its not one hundred recent k resistor its a horizontal single turn pot so not even reading the words in the table let alone the words in the the book so it occurred to me while should i just not have a bill of materials because you don't need it i or should i just ignore the issue and let people let people make their own mistakes and figure if i get paid for the kit then its none of my business whether they know what they're doing when they install it or eventually the the compromise i settled on was i include the bomb but i have a note this table is not a substitute for the text instructions and there will be people who will ignore that but then its not really not my fault if i warned them came next going from one from here the eighteen k alright here is a bag to recycle and reuse it never ends right i went through the whole big thing and off screen to the right i i have reclaimed bags that have had the labels pulled off and in some cases solvent to solvent soaked to remove the glue alright now onto this one twenty two k yeah morgan okay twenty seven is next i mean i guess i myself am working from the from obama here but only for counting out the parts which is really what its intended for should be able to go through a kid whether its an actual kit that you buy or quasi kits and preparing here for myself you should be able to go through one of those and check that all the parts match the list and that's what the list is for but i'm not counting these out in the order that i will use them thirty six one of the reasons for using the thirty six value is that it goes nicely with eighteen eighteen and thirty two or exactly and the one ratio and there aren't all that many parents like that among a standard resistor values there are a bunch of near misses but in the full wave rectifier in particular its nice to have a pair that to the to within precision is exactly a twenty one ratio like many people i'm using resistors that are in the value series that goes with five percent but using them at one percent tolerance so there's a different value series that only partly overlaps that is theoretically the standard value series for one percent resistors but its more different values than you really need so i'm basically just using one person says higher quality five percent resistors that's another way these nostalgic things although i mean few people would say that things were better in the day when you could only get ten percent resistors but things were simpler anyway even if that wasn't better so i guess that's a thing i would like to embrace those modern improvements that really are improvements but switching to the the official one percent value series and having to suck i guess five times as many different values of everything and so on that would not really be a good thing okay next on this list is the panel pots which i think i'm going to skip over as with the lumberjacks and then we're and i can do the the chimp trimmer prompts them you have heard me complain about beef beef about it before that people say trimmer pots when they mean a panel pot with a with a plastic shaft i dunno why they think that's a trimmer pots but this afternoon i'm putting in actual trip pots which are a different thing and there are exactly five of them in this this is israel sancho ninety seven war and if they don't match color wise i'm probably going to reserve the odd one out for later cause i'd kinda like to ship a customer trump hops that match yeah okay they don't match so i'm going to take four out of here and eight over here and save the one before something like a prototype where it doesn't matter that it doesn't match just to confirm these are hundred k horizontal one turn four six eight the blue ones and the green ones are equally good they're just different brands so in the interest of not chipping someone coil or where the two parts don't match i'll save that one of the older brand for some other purpose when i just have one one need one of them in the module or if it says i say a prototype where i don't care that they don't match or whatever alright now we're onto the big bucks at work one hundred kv sisters told the story many times of how i ordered one thousand of these and got five thousand five hundred so i need to in the upper bin and five in the lower bin for a total of seven per per qoyllur so i'm down to my last pair of pants and that's trousers for you europeans and things are still pretty fucked up here so i wasn't really eager to try to go shopping for more in person so i decided that for the first time in a long time i want to try to buy pants online i know my size and i had a hell of a time just dealing with the modern web like i i went to one retailers shop and i did a search and of course it its as bad as most are parametric search rates you there's a field for size and is that inches or is it centimeters or is it an arbitrary size number well they have different items in their database that are cattle all raised in each of those ways so if you type thirty six yeah it'll match some things that are thirty six inches and other things that are way too small because it was matching centimeters and other things that actually are the right size but won't match at all because they're sized in some other system anyway i and of course the the ordering of search results is going to be featured items first and reset to that every time you reload the page i dunno why anybody thinks that we want to see featured items but i guess they get that from imitating amazon so what i would do would be that i would putting a fairly broad search that would hit everything that could possibly be a pair of pants that would fit me then scroll through the list and open each one in a tab that looked like it might be a match and then i would go through after and close all the tabs that were obviously wrong i but on one of the sites i went to they were doing clever things to try to prevent you from browsing in tabs so every time i would switch to a new tab it would say oh it would pop up have met dialog box saying some of the information on this page has changed and then asked me to click ok and it would do this every single time i track i switched between camps and then other insults like it would have a list of sizes on the page some of them grade out because they don't have that size but ok the size i wanted is not grayed out so i should be able to put it in the cart and buy it and but then at you know after i've gone through all this and click ok several times per tab because i was switching between them then finally when i go to click item in the cart then it says oh this item is sold out what's the point of having that whole graying out logic if its not even telling the truth right if its going to say sold out afterwards so it made me feel a little bit better about my own online store because its certainly not perfect and i'm very conscious of the ways in which its not perfect especially like there are some stupid things to do with how multiple currencies are handled which i'm sure drew cost me sales because there are times when my online store will just sort of randomly switch the currency on you and i do everything i can to prevent it from doing that but there are limits because i i don't i'm not really the person in charge of that code and its all fucking javascript anyway i but it made me feel better using these other other storefronts that are run by people who are big businesses with real i t departments have their own and people who are as good at writing fucking javascript as anyone reasonably can be and just seeing how bad their system still are and and you know their customers tolerate them since two seventy i want to twenty two twenty and i think its true in each pin each of the twelve bins for each twelve sixteen twenty twenty four okay that's all the resistors just to put these in the bins i not going to put the actual to post season yet but i need the sockets for them laughs hi fourteen pin sixteen pin it occurs to me that my next scheduled stream is going to be on the day of the canadian federal election it doesn't necessarily actually have any significant effect on the stream because the election festivities will really be happening later in the evening as the polls close but this is just a sign of the times alright so that's all the parts except the couple of power components that i'm working for later and pcbs so pcb is coming next these are some of the ones from i'm from india the silkscreen came up pretty well on this particular batch no smudges you can tell that its lower resolution though than the ones i used to get from china also these have the defect that i mentioned that where there's a line that would cross over the edge its missing one of the interesting features of this module is that the two boards normally i design every board to be full height but in this case the two boards are different heights and i noticed that i just now that i have switched these boards backwards but that's okay i can swap them it just happens that this board has to be the height of use to fit all the components the the panel components on it the distance the person they need to be but there's not actually all that much circuitry in the qoyllur so i was able to shrink the the backboard a little that may make it slightly cheaper to manufacture because its less board space where you basically pay by the square centimeter although the difference really is marginal it does give the finished module any interest in interesting book having a little gap there that the the backboard doesn't quite to go to the full height of the the franklin alright now for twenty four twenties a couple of minutes after actually i guess i can get right into starting to stuff the sports i'm not sure that i'm really going to wine and one solder them today but maybe if i put in the do the board stuffing that one lie that won't come up to about the right length amount of time i want to spent streaming today so having spent all that time to put points into the banner i just dump american its always a thing and if you've watched some of my previous streams you'll have seen me spending time on this that its its not easy to get the the dc offset adjustment right on lisa choirs and so i was thinking well could i can i change the circuit to make it better in particular the dc offset is or the the the compensation for it is adjusted in the air by by injecting a current into the the integrator op amps would it be better to injected into the ot a's instead no i'm looking here for the five tens and not seeing them so i think i must have dump those into the other bin yeah hope i didn't have these been swamped no it couldn't be because the this is the board that takes the doctors and the inductors are here anyway i built a prototype or i modified an existing one then cut a trace on the board and rewired it to see if putting in the the offset compensation elsewhere would help but it turned out it didn't which kind of makes me feel better because it means that the earlier development work i did deciding where to put it was probably right but it also means that there's no easy fix that will make it better we just have to keep messing with them trying to get those adjustments so yes they should be so i mean on the one hand its not nice that i can't make the the coil it'd be better for dc offset easily but on the other hand it is nice that i didn't make a serious mistake when i first designed it and it is about the the original design is about as good as it can be in that respect silly you know you always want to try to make everything as good as it and if if there were a way to make it better i would want him anyhow he ended up saying matthew scala silicon smith is improved or in exceptional filter masterfully that being into our fortress reference if you don't recognize the way that the game messages use language actually maybe not i'm not a silken smith i'm a crafts dwarf or something like that there was a list on twitter from some sociological study back in the day when sociology was or wasn't even sociology anthropology i guess it was back in the day when there was actually serious science i where they'd gone through you know a whole bunch of different cultures around the world and ranked different activities for how masculine or feminine they were i think the most most masculine activity was hunting large marine mammals whales and walruses in the societies where that is done at all which granted is only a few that was very definitely a men only thing i forget what the most feminine activity was mining was very masculine but not absolutely so you know like like eighty five percent of societies considered that to be men's work all but there were also summer where mining was a thing that women did and making musical instruments was like third most masculine which seemed a little surprising to me there's in my frame of reference there's no particular reason why that would be something that men would do and women wouldn't but apparently in the system in the sample of different cultures that the researchers looked at it happened to be the case that that was not a thing women did ix with a few exceptions but fewer exceptions than whaling so as most people do i'm just putting in components that are like low to the to the board and all these others will go in in a subsequent round of soldering the the dip sockets are also very low to the board but i want to solder them with a bigger tip on the iron so i do that in a separate pass should i actually i think i'll actually skip the schottky diodes as well because those would benefit from the bigger iron trip i've never actually done a successful raid on twitch the one time that i attempted it it appears that the other channel i was going to i stopped streaming will just like within the minute or so that i was going through the the menus but i see that the culture is still streaming and two years and at the time i finish which will be maybe another hour maybe even longer but we'll see anyway and may attempted then i don't even actually know if i have any viewers right now the twitch stream controller says i have one but i think once somebody's once somebody tunes in during a streaming session it then says that you have at least one for as long as you continue streaming even if they all turn out really i guess it doesn't want you to be discouraged although i really wish that there were a wave just having it tell the truth discouraging or not here eighteen this is supposed to be one of two eighteen kb sisters and i'm only seeing a spot for one of them yeah ok there there is only supposed to be one in the bills so i'm probably going i probably just counted out two in which case i'm off you know i'll save this for next one and probably i'll have a half dozen leftover i don't know i probably could find out but the the leads on these diodes feel crunchy when i bend them then leads on resistors usually do i wouldn't be surprised if its like these are steel plated with copper ore and the others are copper all the way through or vice versa or something there could be a difference in the plating but i wouldn't think the plating will be thick enough to affect how it feels when i bend it but there's definitely something different about the wire that these diode leads are made of one king is almost palindromic its brown black black brown brown its not quite the same in both directions but pretty close that's that them for now no i don't see an eighteen in here so i guess i can use the eighteen that i reserved from the previous one but it is strange that they were countered that right there oh of course i don't see an eighteen because that's this is a board too so the jury's still out on that one the hello to peculiar asthma the the the the the yeah the the five tens are missing on this board they weren't in this bin and i can see that they were the thing dropped into the other been so that's that's just what's a consistent pattern when i when i counted them out that's the kind of thing that happens because of trying to juggle two two sets of pins at the same time the if i were making a little bit larger batch if i were making like ten at a time then i wouldn't have even attempted that but doing just six corridors in one batch and trying to trying to do all the work of one type before i move on to the next type ended up making things more confusing the the the ok check for eighteenth yeah here are two of the teens i've also got one left over from the other things so i i think it must be the case that i just countered out i two for each build when i only really need one so i'm going to have a few leftover yeah the the so let's use this reserved eighteen k immediately the the the the the the the point they won't stand up on the legs the the maybe with this one in place the the the the the the the the king that's true drawn out of twelve here the i'm gonna go through and pull out all these eight teams because i see that there are two different kinds and so this may be the chance to like use up an odd one out me i have to go back to the stockland is there to figure it out yeah yeah so i was doing this thing of you know try and having two that didn't quite match and that's no longer relevant because actually oh there's only one in the the build so that there are always going to match so i have here six eight ten and i only need for some gonna have six left over does that work alright let's say i had twelve and i've used to so i should have ten here and i do that's great and then we figure which are the newer ones the newer ones are the darker blue ones so i will have a miscellaneous combination that are leftover hair preferentially used via the older ones these will be leftover for some future building there were a lot of eighteen k resistors that are houston double handfuls in the in the middle path vizio but the corridors the chance to use up the mismatched ones okay after stuffing boards you can see there aren't actually all that many parts one of these builds that is one reason why if someone is a beginner wanting to what build a simple kit i think a coilover is a pretty good choice although they always seem to want to go for the biggest kits but whatever i mean that i make more money on a big kids so if someone wants to by that i'm not going to try to dissuade them too much still i think if someone has never built one of these before they may be better starting with the queller on the other hand i mean the leapfrog is a better behaved filter once you get it finished and there is that finicky adjustment much really both of them have but its finicky in different ways on the two i would like to think that any of my kits are resemble starting points tens like they couldn't remember the other been here we go five out of twelve boards done for this stage i'm not sure whether i really want to hang on and do all twelve in the stream session i meant to our strange now witches long enough that i would consider it ok to knock off at this point maybe i'll just finish this one and then i'll be out to halfway through the batch actually i'll finish this one and then i'll check whether anyone i know is still streaming i think both area and the culture have to finished their streams during this time i was keeping an eye on twitter there but if either of them is around or if anyone else i know is then it would be a good time for a raid alright that's the sixth board and in as much as i'm not even sure whether i still got a few years right now i think that's going to be the stopping place so although twitch because of the software compatibility issues its not going to show you a little bar along the bottom saying that the goal is to fifty subscribed not even subscribers fifty followers the difference is important because you can follow for free and i hope you'll do that let's see if we can get that forty for up to fifty and other than that thank you for watching and i'll be back a week from today on election day and have a nice day oh yeah yeah the the
